Continuous logging & live telemetry
Every engine run is logged while the ECU is connected, without pressing record.
With continuous logging on, efi2000 records each engine run while the ECU is connected and saves it as a standard MLG file. You can watch live channels on the dashboard at the same time.
How recording works
A recording starts when the engine starts, with a few seconds of data from before the start, and ends shortly after the engine stops. Long runs are also split at a file-size limit, so files stay easy to open. Time with the key on and the engine off is not kept.
Polling rate
ECU polling and log recording run separately from the dashboard display. You set the polling rate in the connection controls. The rate you get depends on the ECU, protocol, adapter and connection.
Gaps
Nothing is recorded while the connection is lost, the browser is closed or the device is unavailable.
Example
A stumble happens once on the drive home. Logging was already running, so the event is in the log and you don't have to reproduce it.
The problem it solves
Intermittent faults rarely happen while you're recording. With manual logging, the data you need is often the data you didn't capture.
