Boost target & duty table generator
Fills the boost table from your wastegate spring and boost limit.
Fills the boost table from your wastegate spring pressure and a safe, street or performance profile. It writes open-loop duty or closed-loop targets to match the tune's boost mode, and caps requests at your boost limit.
Inputs
Wastegate spring pressure in psi or kPa, a starting profile and an optional peak boost. Boost builds with throttle and across the turbo's spool range, and requests are capped at the boost limit in Vehicle properties. If the spring alone makes more boost than the limit, the generator warns you, because no table value can hold boost below the spring.
Before you drive
A generated table is one part of boost control. Check the control settings and overboost protection, and confirm the measured boost follows the target before raising load.
Example
With a 9 psi spring and the street profile, part throttle and anything below spool get 0% duty in open loop, so boost stays at the spring, or a target of atmospheric pressure in closed loop. Full throttle above spool asks for about 11 psi in either mode.
The problem it solves
A boost table copied from another car can ask for more pressure than your turbo makes. The controller keeps adding duty to chase a number it can't reach, and boost control becomes unstable.
